Yes, the policeman is a person in your neighborhood, someone that you meet each day!”

 

 

 

 

We had so much fun discussing the different people in our community – from the chefs and bakers to the garbage collectors, gardeners, and postmen! We learned about the different roles that the play, and how they help us each day! To end our week, we took a field trip to the Carlsbad Police Department to see how the policemen and women keep our neighborhood safe.

 

We learned about how the officers are dispatched to different areas, and even got to see them in action!

 

 

 

We talked about the different roles that the policemen and women play, and had a chance to see the jail inside the police station…

 

 

There wasn’t much in the jail cell – just a small bench, a potty, and a sink… Oh, and there was a very big and heavy door to keep all of the bad guys from getting out!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our favorite part of the trip was seeing all of the police vehicles, and getting to ride in the back of the police car!
